"Thunder," Wooden Coaster GCI Concept, Six Flags Great Adventure, NL 2
Did you spot the Kingda Ka and El Toro trains speeding by you during your journey?
A New Wooden GCI for The Golden Kingdom at Six Flags Great Adventure would be a perfect fit for the park. "Thunder" fills in the empty area that the two wooden coasters named "Rolling Thunder" left behind. It roars through the woods in the shadow of Kingda Ka. Thunder is a coaster themed around a storm and takes place in a dense forest.

I try to fit coasters into real existing areas to try and create a challenge for myself, and this time around I was thinking of what could go into Great Adventure's large space that once used to host the Classic Wooden Roller Coaster "Rolling Thunder," and thought a GCI would fit the area perfectly.
It would re-open the unused pathway that is now closed between El Toro and Kingda Ka, and fill the area nicely with a coaster that the New Jersey Six Flags park could use. A GCI is a wooden-coaster type made by Great Coasters International. They offer some of the smoothest, most twisted, and highest quality wooden roller coaster attractions in the world."
This coaster was created using an overlay to be sure that it would accurately fit the area that once held Rolling Thunder. It's a family-ish coaster that would fill a void in the Great Adventure coaster lineup, much like Mystic Timbers did for Cedar Fair's Kings Island.
The coaster also makes use of the old service station for Rolling Thunder, and the new station is in a similar location as the old RT station. The coaster crosses under El Toro in the same location as the old Roller Thunder, making the construction of the new coaster just that much easier.
