Time for a Upgrade? ryzen 5800x, RX6800 4k performance benchmarks 2023
since building my pc in 2021 and with new games like starfield and armoured core on the way, I wanted to see if my pc is still up to snuff when it comes to 4k gaming. the 5800x has dropped down in price massively since its launch price of over £420 pounds, now being able to purchase for under £180!! buyers remorse aside I have got plenty of good use out of the cpu but when it comes to 4k gaming i think this cpu is past it
the RX 6800 and its 16gb of VRAM has been a champion since I bought it, although ray tracing is still a no go for this gpu RDNA2 still bought very good 4k performance although I think 1440p is where this card shines. still you can find this card at about £450 these days so still a great price compared to the £700 plus I paid for mine (crypto boom was a thing and I needed a new gpu) I think this has become the sweet spot card if ray tracing is not your thing.
using some symphectic benchmarks and gaming benchmarks we can see how much performance we can squeeze out of the old rig,
motherboard is running the latest bios and gpu is using the latest drivers from AMD
Let me know if you want to see more benchmarks or recommended games?
