Tinker Tailor Stalker Spy: #1,061 ( Stalker ) Loner Kruglov Return To Rostok
I'm not a Loner. My name is not Kruglov. My task is to infiltrate any Factions that I choose, in order to investigate and seize any of the new prototype weapons and ammunition, that have illegally entered the Zone. I have left the Mercenary Faction to join the Loner Faction. I am the Stalker.
Encrypted Diary: We didn't wait for an Emission. I took a gamble and decided to make a run for it, back down south through the Army Warehouses and on to Rostok. General Voronin awaited us to find out what we saw at the Brain Scorcher and to get our rewards.
Once I took the men to the 100 Rads Bar, to celebrate our success, we got a drink to our 11 Companions that did not make it back from the Red Forest. I had brought the Dutyer back with us and at the moment he wanted to join the party. General Voronin let me choose from several armors before I decided to take the Guardian of Freedom as my reward. That really wasn't the reward I was most happy about.
The big breakthrough in my entire undercover endeavor, was finding three of the prototype weapons in the hands of the Monolith, inside the X-19 Lab. This is the proof I had been seeking and confirmation they were the source of deploying these in the Zone. Olivius, the Bandit Trader, must have made a deal with them to be able to sell a few, no doubt trading them for other resources the Monolith could not get from outside the Zone. It had been obvious the bandits didn't have the resources to make these and Limpid always seemed hesitant when having to repair mine.
Now I could slip out of Rostok and return to my superiors and report my findings. The cross stash I had made before our trip, just on the other side of the Duty blockade, was more than enough loot that could reward all the surviving Companions and the widows of the fallen. It had taken 139 days to discover all of this, and having joined several Faction in my pursuit of my mission, it was an experience I will never forget for the rest of my life.
Game Note: This isn't the conclusion to my story that I imagined, but real life has a way of changing things, so it is what it is. Considering Stalker 2 is releasing today, I guess I was lucky just to be able to return to Rostok from the Brain Scorcher. I was ready to continue this much farther, but Stalker 2 is calling me. My thanks to everyone that followed my story and was nice enough to leave a few likes here and there. Those really matter.
