Title Defense - The Unreleased DC/PS2/Xbox/GC/PC Boxing Game
This is a tech demo by Climax meant to try to sell the concept to a publisher and is running on PC. This version was clearly meant for SEGA, and is from April 21, 1999, but others such as Acclaim also received the pitch.
It is extremely basic, featuring an autodemo if the program is left running, but allows one to two players to jump in. It's a weird control setup, so I don't do all the moves, but there are uppercuts and that sort of thing.
The concept of doing a boxing game would be floated around during the following years, including one attempt called HBO Boxing, but ultimately it was never picked up. It doesn't seem like work was ever done to make it run on consoles either.
