TMNT 2012 Season 2 Episode 10 Review - Fungus Humungous

Whereas the previous episode gave us a proper introduction to Casey Jones, this one takes things to a more psychological level. After April gets sprayed by some kind of mutated fungus, she experiences her worst fear and it’s bats. It doesn’t take long before the others get hit with Leonardo suffering the worst of it. It’s now a fight against their worst fears but will they succeed?
I love this episode. Sure it’s an episode with many of the characters dealing with their worst fears but I like how it takes things to a psychological level. Plus many of the worst fears tie in to many events that they experienced throughout the series. Example: Don’s fear of April rejecting him is a nod to what happened in the first episode of Season 2. In the end, it was Leo who saved the day by conquering his fear and facing it in order to save his friends. He gets character development here and it shows. Plus the ending battle was incredibly good and satisfying.
The episode introduces us to Fungus Humungous, voiced by Fred Tatasciore and it was a powerful threat. Sadly it couldn’t handle sunlight.
