My lord, the NES could not handle a proper 2d fighting game. Normal attacks are slow as hell and do no damage, and the special attacks just get you punished when the cpu blocks. Basically the best strategy is to just throw a lot. That does tons of damage. Seems Konami put all the good devs on the SNES version of TMNT Tournament Fighters and left the NES & Genesis versions to rot.
