Could an Academy Award winner be on board to star in the planned Spawn reboot? Well, according to writer Todd McFarlane this unnamed Oscar winner is calling about every three weeks asking for the script. Well, Todd, we are with the Oscar winner. What's taking so long!?! We've been hearing rumors about this reboot since 1997, and it took until 2009 to finally have an update that McFarlane was working on a new version of the story. Since then there hasn't been a ton of news about it until MTV caught up with McFarlene at the Toy Fair. Fans, spawn isn't dead, and McFarlane is definitely still writing it saying quote "I continue writing pages here and there." Hummm...Well as far as the plans for the film, McFarlene sounds like he wants to build a new franchise saying quote "The pitch I gave was that we could do ten of these for the next ten years, and he [the Oscar winner] wouldn't have to be 22 for the rest of his life." McFarlene also said that he has plans to make an animated series based on the script as well. So, I know there are a lot of loyal Spawn fans out there who are waiting patiently for this reboot, but who do you all think could be this mysterious Oscar winner attached? I have an inkling that it could be Jamie Foxx, or maybe even Cuba Gooding Jr.? Do you think this classic could be the start of a beautiful new franchise or animated series?
