ToeJam & Earl Random World runs 2 & 3 - Shock's Retro Gaming Bytes on Real Hardware - No Emulation
Shock's RetroGamingBytes - ToeJam & Earl Sega Genesis 1 Life / 1 Credit Completion Progression Attempt No. 2 and 3. 08-19-24
Strategy and gameplay analysis provided on the fly, trying to optimize/avoid bad presents, manage health and not take risks while also exploring the levels more fully when within reason. Finding the Carrot Man while having plenty of money to ID presents is key. I love this game and it was a staple of play for my circle of friends 30 years ago. I took Earl this time as my previous runs on Fixed World were with ToeJam.
I have learned for certain, that Earl start with more health than ToeJam, but ToeJam is slower. I always thought this was the case but wasn't sure as it's been a long time since I've studied the game. Perhaps I will break this game down to more series data with all the nuances of the enemies and gifts, and rank everything.
This was played using real hardware on an actual Sega Genesis model 1, and the 32X adapter for no reason, NOT emulation using the official Sega 6 Button arcade stick. RGB output from the console via SCART to component adapter. Captured with the OSSC. I'm working getting the image to display less blurry. If anyone else uses this method to capture, please feel free to add suggestion but I have run into capture card conflicts.
