5Demo Singolo Giocatore del primo memorabile Ghost Recon, rilasciato nell'autunno 2001 con la mappa "Il Castello", versione diurna di un livello della campagna in notturna, successivamente aggiunta con una patch fra le missioni rapide selezionabili nel gioco completo.

Ghost Recon è uno sparatutto tattico a squadre, dagli sviluppatori di Rainbow Six, con un gameplay simile a Hidden & Dangerous seppur qui più semplificato, sullo sfondo dei racconti di Tom Clancy. L'unico difetto del gioco fu la bassa interazione con l'ambiente e con gli NPC, non era possibile neppure raccogliere un'arma nemica o dal proprio compagno caduto, ne poter usare medkit, diversamente dal principale concorrente di allora, il più simulativo Operation Flashpoint ( dal binomio Bohemian/Codemaster poi ribattezzato Arma: Cold War Crysis) che offriva scenari degni di un free roaming con totale libertà di azione. Del gioco comunque furono lodati la grafica, i movimenti, il sound, capace di mantenere perennemente teso il giocatore durante le missioni dietro le linee nemiche. E' ricordato per essere stato il primo simulatore di guerra in cui l'esercito americano veniva doppiato in italiano ed altre lingue.
