I'd like to make some asterisks, so to speak, for some of the characters I placed.
(Dark)Samus: Yes I realize she has the arm canon, but that's mostly used for Neutral and Side B attacks, everything else is some kind of kick or punch.
Ness: While his smash attacks do use weapons, that's only 3 attacks. Everything else is is psychic powers.
Zero Suit Samus: I probably should have put her in other weapons, but at the time I was making this I was mostly thinking about some of her moves where she includes her jet boots but she's still kicking, so I was seeing her more as a hybrid.
Rosalina: One could argue that Luma is the weapon, but I see it as her giving it commands like Pokemon Trainer. Looking at it from that angle, her only weapon attack is Neutral A, where she kinda tickles you with her wand.
Bayonetta: I wasn't going to put her in the unarmed category at first, but then I remembered her gun attacks are completely optional(an extra gimmick), and she only has one special that uses her guns. She otherwise is completely hand to hand.
MinMin: This was an odd one because, in the original game the Arms can be swapped out for different types. But they use them like boxing gloves more so than use them as weapons, it becomes a part of the character. But that aside her non-arm focused moves are all still kicks.
But even if I got some unarmed characters wrong, there's still WAY MORE characters that DON'T use a sword than there are that do anyway. If anything we need more characters that use other weapons. Axes, spears, bow & arrow, rifles, bazookas, the list goes on.
But the number of sword characters we have is fine, and even if the last 3 characters were sword characters it would still be fine. I know this for a fact because many people have asked for Sora, Dante, and some other sword guy like Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia.
So yeah, shut the fuck up! But if you're not one of these people, then show them this video and tell them to shut the fuck up lol.
