Toon Time Theater 'Now & Then' Menu Bumpers for 050425 (Mostly Unused)
1This weekend marked the the migration of Toon Time Theater from Saturday mornings to Saturday nights due to the U-PICK Poll showing that most of the New Gabe Order's Twitch audience, as well as some Tumblr users, wanted a makeover for the Saturday morning block, causing half of the programs to be school-themed as Disney's One Saturday Morning on ABC also had a similar lineup.
A new (filler) arc means new programs. As Pokémon and ONE PIECE returned to the lineup as usual, new programs included The Apothecary Diaries, LAZARUS & chance pop session. The Apothecary Diaries was chosen to buy some time until the ONLY ONE FILLER ARC ends, as well as to make up for the extra hour that plays before LAZARUS. The fact is, I still wanted to live-stream Pokémon after the E/I programs hour, but due to LAZARUS taking up the 12 AM Eastern slot on Toonami, I had to add an extra hour to the late-night edition of Toon Time Theater (formerly More One Night) just so I can fit in Pokémon without making any sacrifices.* I threw in LAZARUS because, why not? Not everyone knows how to watch Toonami three hours ahead of the usual times, so I made some ingenious setups to make it happen. I picked chance pop session due to the Nintendo Switch reaching end-of-life support. I know these two are unrelated to each other, but since this series is too obscure, I doubt it would get another adaptation. The 2001 anime is the best we can get, since the source material is actually a radio drama series from the late '90s.
Lastly, this marked the final weekend of KEY THE METAL IDOL on Toon Time Theater. Since I didn't finish re-editing the rest of the versions (episodes) of the series, I decided to drop it after. Starting 12 April, another LAZARUS slot will replace KEY THE METAL IDOL, but here's the twist. It will actually be a rerun of the previous week's episode, but with Japanese audio and English subtitles. Turns out, I can't stand the dubbers butchering the pronunciation of "Lazarus" and "Gilberto".
Unlike ONLY ONE SATURDAY MORNING, Toon Time Theater does not need to abide by the six-hour limit now that it's a late-night anime block.
