NOTE - originally this video was referred to as being about "core principles" in games. Cabal Paxiarch rightly pointed out that it's more about my favorite mechanics. It was a long time ago and I didn't know better! Ahhhhhhhh!!!! Regardless, Fixed in the title, but I'll leave the description as it stood.

In what is likely my most subjective video to date - here I discuss my top five 'core principles' of board games. This ranges from central mechanics to the mindsets of players; I left it quite broad on purpose to allow some room for discussion - I am very anxious to hear what YOU all have to say.
