Ridge Racer
This game received quite a lot of slack upon its release due to the lack of content you actually received upon buying it. Those issues aside this is still the same old ridge racer most people have learned to love. I myself am a huge fan of the series and picked this up day one, for me this is the best racing experience on the Vita, There's a modest amount of customisation not just in terms of picking the colour of your car, but also unlocking and installing upgrades and once you have downloaded all of the add on tracks and cars it feels like the game that should have been released in the first place.
You can pick up the ultimate version that comes with all of the DLC previously behind a paywall. I highly recommend it!
Ys
It's the bread and the butter. With bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. And special sauce on any bread of your choice. In other words, Ys: Memories of Celceta manages to cover all the basics you need and all of the extras you could want, even going one step further with details that really help polish off the experience. If your looking to satisfy your RPG needs this is the game to get for the vita! It's another one of those games that really shows why the Vita is so special. I love the fast paced combat, the story, the special moves, the map progression system, the crafting system and the RPG elements. This is one of my favourite JRPG's!
Killzone Mercenary
Killzone Mercenary pushes the boundaries beyond what I thought was possible on handheld consoles. The graphics are truly incredible and the gameplay and audio design is very impressive when taking in to the consideration the limits of a handheld system. The single player campaign is a great immersive experience and the multiplayer is what I have always dreamed of when it comes to online FPS on the go. Killzone Mercenary truly is a must have game for every Vita owner, You will not be disappointed.
Tearaway
The world Media Molecule has created is one of the most original and imaginative of all time. The way paper is creatively used for many things is beautiful. And their cast of quirky characters, along with the neat and heartwarming story are charming beyond belief. The graphics, controls, framerate are all so smooth and perfect you will find it hard to put down. If you enjoy puzzles and platforms this is one to get for the vita.
Gravity Rush
I was continually impressed while playing this game with both the ambitious scale of the city, and the calibre of the gameplay. The particular challenges of using the gravity system was a welcome new experience. This is one of those special games that come around every so often and really deserves your time. A great little sandbox game with bundles of character, style and originality. This game was recently re released for the Playstation 4 so if you can’t get it on vita, try it on the home console!
