This is a play-through using Gaia in the Saturn game Battle Arena Toshinden Remix. Read on below for more information...

Gaia is the main boss in 1P Game mode, and he is an unlockable playable character.

===== HOW TO SELECT GAIA =====

There are 2 methods to unlock him, as follows:

----- FIRST METHOD -----

The first method is to simply play through and complete Story Mode without using any continues. This should unlock Gaia, Sho and Cupido. Gaia appears on the right side of the grid on the character select screen, in between Ellis and Sho.

----- SECOND METHOD -----

The second method requires a boss input code, here's how to do it:

On the main title screen where it says 'Press Start Button', input the following:

Up, Down, X, B, A, Y, C, Z, START

If you've done it correctly, you'll hear a voice when you press Start. This also unlocks Sho and Cupido as well.

===== ABOUT GAIA =====

In Toshinden 1 and Remix, he is a monstrous warlord-type boss wearing the armour of Basara. He is a very powerful character albeit with a glaring weakness - his slow speed and his jumps. It takes forever for him to land from his jumps, and there is a lot of delay in his heavy basic moves. His is the sponsor of the first tournament and is the father of Ellis.

===== ABOUT TOSHINDEN REMIX =====

This is basically an enhanced version of the original Battle Arena Toshinden made specially for the Sega Saturn. It is called Toshinden S in Japan.

The most significant additions of Remix are: a new character named Cupido, who acts as a final boss and hidden playable character; and also a decent Story Mode for each of the regular characters which feature voice acting and specific character image portraits made just for it. This mode effectively allows you to get a good insight into the character's story backgrounds, their relationships and interactions with the other characters, and the reasons on why they had entered into the tournament.
