If you asked me a year ago what I said my first goal after all Windows lunatic 1cc would be, I would have said either perfect stages or IN LNB. If you told me it was neither of those, I'd have assumed it was PCB LNB or maybe better MoF runs. If you asked me 10 years ago, after my first MoF LNB, how long another would take in terms of effort invested, I would have guessed 50, 100 plus hours.
After my initial lunatic clear of this game 11 years ago, I said the following:
"So I was under the impression this was supposed to be hard to do"

Then about a month ago, the draft results for Speedromizer were revealed. Touhou Replay Showcase did a collab with them this year, where some community members (hi I was one of them) would all swap categories around and learn a brand new category, from almost nothing, to perform in a one attempt setting sometime in November. After finishing up some projects I was in the middle of, I had about a week until a progress update stream for the Touhou side, and no prep done.

So I learned the entire game in a week, did two credits, and the second was this run. The first was 2MNB to Benben followed by 7M Benben, no resource gain (or loss) in Stage 5, game over to Seija spell 2.

Considering how many of the mistakes in this run came from either a knowledge gap (Stage 4 post-mid), forgetting some minor detail (you'll know it when you see it), or were just... nothing deaths (I counted at least 3 of these), I'm extremely confident in being able to put up a good showcase in November. The hard part will be staying fresh on these routes...
What next? Not learning anything new (aside from a speedrun for the event as well) and maybe going for a low miss (5 or better) run here. Not entirely sure yet. The main thing I've learned over the past year is that I really need some sort of external motivation to go for a Touhou goal instead of one of my other hobbies, as these are larger time commitments over a longer period of time. But getting a run like this, this quickly? Really, really encouraging.
(now how will I beat the Mints superplayer allegations)
