That lives penalty though. It doesn't matter how many lives I start with I always end up with 0-2 by the time I reach Remilia. More lives means more bombs, more bombs means more fuckery :^) Also no 60fps because the old games resolution is really small and if I try to upscale that shit goes wrong.

After playing Touhou 15 Lunatic for a while, going to this is a drastic change. It's very easy compared to 15. The one thing I like, but also don't like about this game is that many of the spellcards/patterns/non-spells are all dependent on boss movement and your position. You can learn positions through practice and memorizing, but boss movement in this game is completely random. What that means, a pattern can either be extremely easy, or force you to use bombs because there's no other way around it. Aside from that though, it's still a great game. Not my favorite, but the first one I ever managed to fully beat back when I first started.

So what's the story? Some Vampire lady and her goons move in to Gensokyo and decide they prefer the sky to be red. So Reimu/Marisa are like "Bruh... wtf? blue sky better" And so we go beat them up and drink their tea.

Stage 1: Rumia 1:30 - What a cutie. Oh shit that was a boss fight?

Stage 3: Meiling 8:02 - This is where shit can go horribly wrong if she decides to stick around the bottom of the screen for her attacks.But for the first three stages, if everything goes by well enough then no bombs should have to be used.

Stage 4: Patchouli Knowledge 12:40 - Stage is all dependent on your position, which I messed up all throughout. Bombs away. Patchy herself is a fun fight, it's the kind of dodging I like to do, all reaction based. Except when a red fire bullet comes out of another red fire bullet and gives you the finger.

Stage 5: Sakuya Izayoi 17:14 - Say goodbye to your bombs and lives friends.

Stage 6: Remilia Scarlet 20:40 - I used to know this fight inside out because I remember it used to give me alot of problems back then. Unfortunately I forgot how I used to do some spells so this turned out a bit shaky for some parts. Final spell is long so I hope you like staring at the screen and not blinking.
