Hey all, I'm back this time with my first Touhou cover! I've got to say, I actually had a really hard time with this one. I went into it quite confidently at first, then I got stuck. For most of it, I felt like I couldn't quite get it to sound the way I wanted. It was quite frustrating, because I couldn't figure out why. However as it neared completion, I was finally satisfied with it.

I think part of it was because I was really nervous about how this one would turn out, since there are a lot of really fantastic covers of this track already.

This being the final boss (well, I guess there's still Extra, but still) I really wanted to try and make the cover reflect that. I kind of just threw in a mix of everything, using strings, piano, a harp, guitars, a dulcimer, and even some conga drums. So it came out like this mixture of orchestral and rock. I really did enjoy playing the guitar parts on this one.

As for gameplay, at first I tried really hard to record some gameplay, but then I quickly remembered how hilariously bad I am at Touhou. So instead, I went and found Cactu's fantastic replay on lunatic difficulty. The replay actually went together very well with the cover I think. Props to him for completing this run, especially towards the end there, when he was on his last life.

I also hope that BubbleHermit and Marksfps don't mind me briefly using their great artwork in this video. The glow of the eyes especially is what really sold me on BubbleHermit's piece, and I really liked the aesthetic of Marksfps's picture. The brush-strokes and the pale blue and white motif was a really nice contrast to the usual red theme in the other fanart.
