This is my Lunatic 1cc run. Touhou 9 is one of my least favorites of the series mainly because of the multiplayer aspect of it. It's still a fun game especially because of how crazy this game gets, but I prefer the other games more. Well anyway, this is a more recent run I did. I had originally beat this with Aya a while ago, but decided to boot this game up just to try with someone else. I thought this run would be more enjoyable.
1-5. These stages normally go by pretty quickly. Just be careful not to lose a life during them. You'll need them later trust me. The bosses go down pretty quickly for these stages. I do get pretty careless sometimes and get hit more than I should but whatever.
6. This is the point of the game where it starts getting harder. You're pretty much guaranteed to lose at least one life in each stage from here on unless you're playing as Aya. Sakuya was pretty tough here. Knives everywhere. I try to avoid the right side if possible since that's where the blue knives come from. There were some pretty weird dodges I did towards the end of the first life here lol. I don't know how some of that happened. After you lose a life in this game, the bosses will get a little easier in the next fight each time you lose a life. Just thought I'd mention that.
7. Ah Medicine. Such a cruel boss. That poison that she causes on your screen is so annoying because it slows you down so much to the point where it looks like you're not moving at all. At least she has a cool theme song. During the second fight, I just started spamming level 2 spells just to survive. It payed off at least. I also managed to gain 2 extra lives here which probably really helped me beat this game with Reisen.
8. Komachi is an interesting character. It looks like her coin bullets are colorful cd disks or something. Anyway, she makes a lot of them appear on your screen so this fight gets really crazy as you can see by the end of the first life I lost. I started spamming level 2 spells again. I don't know how I dodged some of that stuff lol.
9. Shikieiki Yamaxanadu is the main antagonist's name of this game. Quite a long name that I somehow remember. She's one of the meanest bosses in this series as you'll see here. Freaking hot dogs everywhere. I know there not hot dogs but that's what I called them when I first saw them. At least her theme song is my favorite in this game. It's like why do all the mean bosses in this game have the best songs? Well anyway, you can see she tears through all my lives that I had entering this stage. Thank goodness I had all of them or I wouldn't of made it. You're guaranteed to lose probably 2 lives here so make sure you do good on the previous stages.
