Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia - Vs. Meiling

The purpose of this video is mostly to notify folks that this game came out last week, rather unexpectedly to me. When I made a video for the demo months ago, I mentioned that this could be a Touhou fangame of the year. It seems Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia has fulfilled or even exceeded all expectations and has quickly claimed the status of a hidden gem for the fandom.
Before Sumireko can enter the 2nd major dungeon (the Scarlet Devil Mansion), its gatekeeper Hong Meiling must be defeated. While expectedly not a huge roadblock, she's still a physical powerhouse that should best be overcome by using her severe weaknesses to ice (Acala) and fire (Agni) magic.
We brought our own tanky Meiling, as well as muscle-mommy Byakuren, obligatory main character Sumireko and adorable Kogasa. You would only naturally get a Meiling from the mansion itself, so this one was fused from sleepers of the earlier game. Byakuren is a special case in that she can't be found in the wild, you have to fuse her. Kogasa is simply a hijacked sleeper from the Myouren Temple Underground.
MVP of this encounter is probably Byakuren, as she has innate party-wide buffs that you can't easily get apart from having her. Meiling is simply a physical fighter, Kogasa a mage or group-healing cleric. Since the boss Meiling buffs her attack throughout the fight, it's well worth it to bring Dai-Atma and cast it from time to time and reduce her strength to its default that way. The mentioned two party-members have it. Our own Sumireko is mostly built for bulk and agility and is balanced in pretty much all other regards. Do recall that the condition to a full party wipe is simply to have your protagonist hit 0 HP. I'd highly recommend against a flimsy damage-dealing build for Sumireko.
With all that explained, enjoy the battle! Amusingly, Meiling's gatekeeping salary seems to be so poor that the 200 mon you loot from her will probably not even cover your MP-spending expenses needed to win. What a sad state of affairs...
