The place where the two(+) gods from outside Gensokyo plotted day after day to boost their popularity.

As she looked up at the cloudless August sky, Kanako Yasaka (god #1) thought of a new plan.
Originally, under the lunar calendar, Tanabata would be held around this time. Even in Gensokyo, however,
the solar calendar had spread through the Human Village, and few humans remembered the old calendar any more.
So why not take that old, forgotten Tanabata, and market it as a New Moriya Tanabata?
Ironically, thanks to the end of the rainy season, the New Tanabata was much better for stargazing than the current one.
Plus, they could rope in more foolish humans by advertising that they'll grant any wish, too.
And more than anything else, the first to announce a new idea is the one to profit!
As a sly divine spirit-- ie. god-- who'd lived a long time, she knew this fact very well.

Suwako Moriya (god #2) also had a simple idea.
They'd need some props in order to advertise the event and sell for a profit.
She set her eyes upon the common morning glory. Despite how common they were, they were well-known
as a symbol of a fruitful Tanabata. Plus, by selectively breeding and/or spray-painting them in a variety
of flashy colors, more foolish humans would surely covet them. Sanae Kochiya, the shrine's god-in-training,
was selected as the best candidate for cultivating and marketing the flowers.

Thanks to Sanae, news of the New Tanabata spread through the village. Once the village was filled with morning glories,
however, an incident began. The humans' conceited wishes became divine spirits-- embodiments of desire. They passed through
the morning glories, those symbols of Orihime and Hikoboshi's reunion, and began to influence the stars in the sky.
Less than a month after the previous Tanabata, the River of Heaven opened once more.
The summer triangle of Orihime, Hikoboshi and the swan began to shine.
And then, as if some celestial wrath had been invoked, a torrential rain-- the 'rain of tears' that signaled Tanabata's premature end.

Reimu Hakurei, maiden of the Hakurei Shrine, was outraged.
She made up her mind to go take care of those tyrannical Moriyas no matter what.

Marisa Kirisame, ordinary magician, had no knowledge of the situation.
Nonetheless, she was much more sensitive than most to both incidents and celestial bodies.

---Beneath the glow of the stars, "she" lifted her gaze.
Exhaling deeply, she clapped the old, heavy book shut.
A supernatural, magical wind rose up. The torches around her flickered,
then flared up more strongly and ominously than before.

Opening her eyes wide, gazing up at the stars of Tanabata now imbued with magic---

"She" recited a wish.

Stage 1 is honestly pretty straightforward and if you play it like normal you won’t have much of anything to worry about. However with that in mind because of the nature of it that makes it absolutely perfect for experimenting with and getting used to the incredibly aggressive playstyle this game promotes.

Depending on what shot type you choose you’ll either fight Fabritis or Iphonea as a mid-boss. Both of which aren’t terribly difficult, just more of a warm-up to their styles of attacks later on.

As a boss however they attack you “together” however there’s really only a couple attacks where they’re both shooting at you at once. More often than not it’s one or the other with them tagging out each time you beat a spell card.
