Hard Mode Levels 16-20: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0h29lDbVKo

Fighting Raven is a fanmade Touhou game by @N-Factory.

NOTE: I had to change to 30 FPS to record smoothly.

Controls (Based on the key config using a gamepad):

Joystick Up/Down - Move character up/down
Joystick Left/Right - Used for shooting speed and Spell Cards
Button 1 - Shoot
Button 2 - Block
Button 3 - Spell Card
Button 4 - Pause/Menu

Shooting speed:

Fast shot - Forward + Button 1
Normal shot - Button 1
Slow shot - Backward + Button 1

Spell Cards:

Left Foot - Forward + Button 3
Third Foot - Button 3
Right Foot - Backward + Button 3

Forward and Backward correspond to the player's perspective. For Player 1, Forward would be Right on the joystick, but for Player 2, Forward would be Left on the joystick.

EDIT: I just noticed that Left/Right not only determines which Spell Card you use, but also changes the speed of your normal bullets. This is a big deal to me because all I've been using is the normal shot. Being able to control the speed of your bullets adds more strategy to the game.

I also noticed that Left/Right can change the speed of certain Spell Cards depending on which foot you select. For example, if you select the first Spell Card (Large Shot) for your Third Foot, it will fire at normal speed when you use it. But if you place it on the Left Foot, it will fire at a fast speed. Choosing the Right Foot will fire at a slow speed, etc.

The point is that not only do you have to choose your Spell Cards wisely, but you must also consider WHICH Foot to use for them since this may affect their shooting speed. This does not affect Spell Cards that stop time when you use them, and some have a fixed shooting speed regardless of where you put them (like Triple Fast Shot).

Spell Card List (Complete):

I put this together for myself to make it easier to remember what each Spell Card does, but I figured I might as well share it. This is not a translation; only short descriptions of what each card does. There are 24 Spell Cards total, but you only start with 4. You unlock a new Spell Card for each level that you complete. Easy Mode and Hard Mode both have 10 levels.

EDIT: List updated. All of the Spell Cards listed in blue stop time for an instant when you use them.

EDIT 2: The last Spell Card is a support card that you don't activate manually. If you try to use one of your other two Spell Cards when you don't have enough spell meter, the remaining cost is taken from your HP bar. For example, if you have 10 HP and 4 spell bars, when you try to use a Spell Card that requires 6 bars, 4 will be taken from your spell meter and 2 will be taken from your HP.

Fighting Raven is a simple, but fun little game. It's the kind of game that's fun against the computer, but even better against a human. The game has 3 different modes: Easy, Hard, and Versus. Easy and Hard mode are comprised of 10 levels each, and Versus mode is for 2 players. The object of the game is to defeat your opponent by shooting bullets and using Spell Cards. Each level is cleared after defeating your opponent 3 times.

At the start of each level, you get to select 3 Spell Cards that you wish to use. There are only 4 cards to choose at first, but for each level you clear you will unlock a new Spell Card. The large number next to the name of the spell card is how many bars of your spell meter it costs to use it.

Both you and your opponent start with 10 HP and an empty spell meter with a max charge of 10. Your spell meter slowly fills automatically during the match. Your movement is restricted to up and down only. You cannot be hurt by your own bullets, but your bullets can bounce off of each other (this can be used as an effective strategy). When an opponent's bullet/attack makes contact with your hitbox you lose 1 HP (not sure if certain attacks can do more damage). You can use the colored light on your side of the field to keep track of where your opponent is.

Blocking is a major key to winning. You have to time it just before a bullet hits you to block successfully. When you do, your spell meter will gain 1 bar. Blocking effectively prevents damage and allows you to unleash more Spell Cards faster.

I had to learn all of this on my own through experimenting and observation (especially the Spell Cards), so please let me know if something is incorrect.
