Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle - Score Attack mode as Sakuya
2This is the 5th Touhou game available on consoles in the west. European release was only today. While it's still as fresh and new as it is, I decided to give you an impressionable video of it, hoping that it wouldn't fall under the radar for some of you.
Touhou Kobuto V Burst Battle is a 3D 1on1-fighting game. I don't know exactly what game it's spoofing, but something tells me it's supposed to simulate Mecha battles. Movement is a little heavy and mechanical and it's definitely not for everyone. Even I have to admit, it's very uneven in places, with some attacks being overpowered, whereas others are almost useless or only intended for very specific situations. Not only that, but a mandatory lock on can make the camera disorienting when you and your enemy move in certain ways. Is there something positive I can say? I like the cutscenes at least...
Nevertheless, I'm somewhat getting the hang of it. Sakuya obviously ranks highest for me in the game's cast, although I wouldn't say she's the most powerful, the "god tier". The AI does best as Marisa and Patchouli, I can tell you that much.
The best attacks of our maid to me are LB+RB square as well as LB + RB circle. You can see me spamming those as lot, it's the ones that utilize Sakuya's timestop to have knives spawn very close to the enemy, then homing in. They're especially helpful when in an arena with cover, a condition where the AI is at an almost hopeless disadvantage to the sneakiness of a human player.
Score Attack mode is not too different from Arcade mode, as in you play match after match until your first loss. The scoring system is almost a formality and the trophy awarded for cracking 1 million points is arguably easier to obtain than the one for a 7-win-streak in Arcade mode. 4-5 matches here should be enough, if you finished at least some of them on full or nearly full health.
With that, enjoy! It ended up being only a 6-minute video, but that's because matches are so short and lethal here.
