Trails of Cold Steel 4 True Final Boss: Ishmelga the great one (Hard Mode)
2This is the final challenge you face in the cold steel saga and oh boy is it a doozy.
Ok so it is split up into three forms. Ogre, Aura, and Ishmelga.
Aura is the magic head of sorts using lots of more magic effects and stealing your EP. He will throw up a barrier to reflect arts on Ishmelga, as well as Ogre once his HP starts to drops. This barrier also restores 9999 HP. For some strange reason despite being magic focused Aura is weak to arts.
Ogre is much of the same but physical focused instead of magic focused which makes the art reflect barrier aura throws on it kind of pointless because it takes half damage from magic anyways. And he has an attack that drains CP instead of EP.
Ishmelga himself is basically just the strongest enemy in the game taking attacks from a lot of different bosses throughout the series. His signature move is evil presence which drains your BP and shatters Orders. At half health he will revive both Aura and Ogre to full health but I believe this is only a one time thing and they will have only 1% of their break gauge when revived so if you're good you can not only stunlock them but use this to your advantage to get your BP back up to full.
If you really don't feel like playing this boss fight just have Rean spam his S craft and give him all your Zeram Powders and Capsules as his S Craft shatters Ishmelgas reflect barrier and if Aura and Ogre decide not to throw it back up immediately you can get attacks off with other characters.
Because you can use basically everyone for this boss fight there's a ton of options for the parties. Use whomever you want but here are my main recommendations.
Party A: Emma, party A fights Ishmelga and Emma is able to throw up reflect on everyone with Palace of Eregion to just say no to some of his attacks and because it's a craft and not an Order Ishmelga can't negate it.
Party B: Randy, this boss takes a lot of physical damage and Randy has the most spammable S Craft in the game.
Party C: Toval, Seemingly a strange choice but Aura is weak to arts and Toval can bust out powerful Arts with the lowest cast time in the game. He can even get 3 Ixion Volts off before Aura gets to act even once.
Also Valimar and Orndine say they're drained of energy but you can still summon them for the boss fight as well as the other mechs.
Other than that just do your best and Enjoy the music. To the future is an amazing final boss theme.
