Optimus Prime is out in the Arctic on a mission since the Decepticon warship is there, when looking over the ice he spots Ruby saying that this is her mission she's on and doesn't need help; Optimus gets a little confused about her but then Ruby explains what the Decepticons have done so far as the Prime yells in annoyance that he couldn't get there sooner. The huntress fires back at Optimus to calm down because the fate of the whole planet is in their hands and what would he do if his team saw him like how he was now, he calms down and agrees to team up with Ruby as she ends her argument with "You're a good leader Optimus Prime, don't shut down." Only a week after Ruby Optimus and Ratchet encounter undead Decepticon warriors from the dark energon Megatron had used as the three fight them off, only for Ruby to activate her silver eyes causing the warriors to turn to stone; which Optimus is very surprised about only for the battle to end; however Nemesis Prime shows up and attacks Optimus, Ruby intervenes and fights Nemesis as he's about to make his final move. The huntress stands her ground before Optimus has a chance to defeat Nemesis. A month goes by as Optimus is still not in control of the Star Saber, his team assures him he can do it and so does Ruby, although she talks to Little the mouse about her feelings toward the Prime; Optimus keeps trying as he continues to try control his Star Saber, only for Ruby to continue with confidence. Soon later, Optimus is fighting against Megatron at the volcano while Ruby tries to help only to be blocked by Neo's puppets, until Megatron badly injures Optimus. Ruby sees this before the Prime takes out his Star Saber and takes the opportunity to fully control his Star Saber sending a energy wave at the Decepticon warship leaving Megatron to be in shock, while Team Prime and Ruby celebrate a small victory. Months pass, Ruby's relationship with Optimus grows as he is now in his new form, the huntress somewhat teases the Prime about him being physically built like that of a human before they attack the Decepticons new empire, Darkmount; Optimus and Megatron fight while Ruby searches and finds her true self, only to rejoin the battle emerging as the Prime is shocked to see her, however the Chester cat is there to stop Ruby and to try to take over her body as she battles him, Optimus deals with Megatron still in battle; only for Megatron to be defeated, Ruby and Optimus leave while the insecticons attack them, the Prime fights them off while they escape however the Chester cat refuses to give so Ruby shoots him during the escape. Later outside, Ruby and Optimus confess openly to each other how they've grown since they first met, only for them both to say at the same time they love each other, Ruby smiles as Optimus Prime smiles knowing there's a future ahead for them.
