Day 5 Spelunking and Jungle Cruising:

Iriomotejima is the second largest island in Okinawa, but with a population of about 2000, it's also one of the least populated. It has the largest area of tropical jungle in Japan and the longest river in Okinawa, the Urauchikawa. Caving tours, jungle boat cruises and gorgeous waterfalls await the brave traveler. Iriomotejima is also the end of civilization in Japan. Go any further out and you're either in the jungle or out to sea and on your way to Taiwan.

Bryan is an expat English teacher, published writer and aspiring producer living in Niigata Japan. When he isn't writing articles for Japanese publications in English, he likes to spend his modest earnings to find inexpensive ways to travel and experience Japan.

Traveling on a Dime is a periodic show of Bryan's adventures in one of the most expensive countries in the world. As he says, "It doesn't have to be expensive, and you can have an amazing experience even when traveling on a dime."
