I'm very happy to finally get a star in this game after months of unlimited breaks and quitting grinds halfway through. I decided to go for an easier (but still hard) star in 2nd run to get myself going. However, there's no guarantee at all that I will be able to pick up from here and seriously grind this game any further. I'm quite satisfied so far to get 120 stars.
Also, the attempt has no ingame sound. This is because I was listening to some videos during the attempt session. Sorry about that.
Now, onto the attempt. This was one of the most awkward experiences I've had with a star. I got a disheartening choke with 115 coins (which you can see at the start of the video) because I missed a ledgegrab. Then, I got the star on the very next attempt. But the way it happened was absolutely BIZARRE. I had awful RNG throughout the attempt, and on top of that, my coin route was pretty tight. So I went through my entire route and ended up with 119 coins. At that point, I knew I would have to do some hard jumps to get back to the mainland if I wanted even a chance at obtaining a single more coin. But I had no idea how to do that. I had not practiced going beyond that final platform with the red coin and the snufit. So, in the middle of the attempt, I had to go and look up a guide (I used rhymew's). And then, I had to pull off a long jump in that video that I had never practiced. I ended up missing the wk and instead landing on the platform with 1HP. At that point, I was sure I was dead. And on top of that, there was a heave-ho waiting to chuck me. But luckily the heave-ho backed off for enough time for me to get back up on my feet. And even at this point, I was also sure I was dead. I had to perform likely the hardest jump in this star a whopping second time, and with nerves. Somehow, I actually made it past that section. And now, here comes the CRAZY part. Something that actually made me learn a new thing about this game's code. I grabbed the final 120th coin from a lavabounce. With 1 HP. And when I collected the star, I had 0 HP. But I still got the star??? What??? I assume I lost my HP a mere frame after collecting the star. But wow. WOW. I was probably DESTINED to get the star this attempt. There is no other explanation for how this poorly planned, impossible-to-pull off attempt actually got me the star.
