Trials of Mana - Demo / Playthrough Part 1 (No Commentary)
13A demo playthrough of the upcoming Trials of Mana remake (time stamps below), with Kevin as the protagonist and Hawkeye as the second character (Riesz is the third character but unless you picked Charlotte as your third character they won't show until later). This goes through your protagonist's introduction, the first area, and ends shortly after the first boss. Hard difficulty was chosen but this early in the game it doesn't seem noticeable compared to games like the Ys series.
There are three distinct routes and endgame scenarios (including a different final boss) depending on your protagonist. Kevin and Charlotte share a route, Hawkeye and Riesz share another, and Duran and Angela share the third route. I originally planned to have Charlotte as a third member but her distinct manner of speaking had me disinterested in keeping her as a party member. Instead, Hawkeye for debuffs and Riesz for buffs seems a good choice.
Interestingly, you gain the experience bonus for not taking damage as long as the character you control doesn't take damage (although your party tends to be decent at getting out of AoE effects).
As the save data from the demo can be imported into the main game when it releases, I will likely opt to continue from here.
