Believe it or not, this game is based off of the "Triangle Heart" series, which is coincidentally what spinoffs of said series like Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is based off of. While TH has been around for a while and has a few sequels, Nanoha's popularity alone has sorta stolen its thunder (she's probably more popular as a character than anyone in the TH series and made her spinoff more popular than the parent franchise). Triangle Heart is basically an H-Series, and this doujin title based on Triangle Heart, isn't any different.

Triangle Chase deals primarily with characters from Triangle Heart 2 (Ai Makihara) and Triangle Heart 3 (Noel K. Ehrlichkeit, the robot maid), though other TH characters make appearances. After an interesting, somewhat nice doujin movie, you play a pretty shoddy (but surprisingly faithful) clone of City Connection with hentai scenes you can unlock. City Connection, Bomb Jack, why the hell are people bringing those back? I never thought City Connection was particularly great, but this game doesn't help.

The game has versus modes and competitive play, but there are a few problems. First, the versus mode isn't alternative (explained in a moment why this is a problem). Second, the game moves at like 1/3 or 1/4 the speed of City Connection. Third, the vehicles are bigger and the view is more zoomed in, making collisions almost unavoidable after a certain point (versus is split-screen, so you can see why this makes things worse). Lastly, the game has bugs, such as shooting an enemy at close range and watching your projectile go through the enemy while you rear-end a car and lose a life.

The game is pretty faithful to the original City Connection as you play with females (the player was changed to a male in some, if not all, the versions of CC that left Japan), the core gameplay is basically the same, and the stages have different musical themes that are a variation of the original theme.
