The final main story battle.
The reality is the last series of battles are where this game falls apart. The AI for the characters you're not controlling isn't smart enough or adjustable enough for me. I spent another hour stream just the last few fights, because there is no save or restock point before the final battle and the item limit combined with a lack of healing abilities make this unwinnable at my skill level.
There are another 20ish side quests available after you beat the main story boss. And you gain control of Violet and fight an even more obnoxious boss based on what I've read.
If I'd played with friends from the beginning, the fight I ended with is almost certainly doable. I tried with a friend and gave him a crash course. But we never came close.
