At the Hungarian Grand Prix, George Russell once again secured a podium finish despite managing to almost completely avoid the TV coverage, an odd skill that he has been perfecting over the past year. His 3rd place finish at the Hungaroring earned him a sixth trip to the podium for the season, putting him one podium ahead of Verstappen. Antonelli also managed to make his way back into the points with a 10th place finish but that won’t do much to quiet the theorists claiming that Toto Wolff may have slightly overhyped the Italian youngster. That result came on the back of Mercedes downgrading their car, something that doesn’t normally cause a performance increase. Despite the positive result, Toto Wolff was furious at his team for their failure. Today, I’ll talk about Mercedes' faltering development and discuss why Mercedes are lucky to have George Russell, so don’t go anywhere.
