TRUE POLYMORPH | Interpretations And Consequences - Spell A Day D&D 5E +2
Alrighty day 339! Today is True Polymorph. 26 more to go. So true polymorph, we've got some questions. Though those are in the video, we've got a touch of horrifying and overpowered in a not so tidy spell.
So the interpretations go along the lines of whether or not the target reverts when reaching zero even after it states the change is permanent until dispelled. RAI from Jeremy state that, yes, just like polymorph even when it's permanent, the creature reverts. Though for me it's the fact written the spell ending and 0 hit point change are in the same sentence. The sentence which is then overwritten, by the permanent until dispelled in the following sentence. The second thing for me is that for a ninth level spell, why just flirt with the permanency.
Though in saying all that, I haven't agreed with Jeremy in the past. See Invisibility being a great example of that. And at the end of the day, it's up to the table, the setting, the DM. Rule it how you want. I'd still put it in a 10 in any case. Just think the permanency is more interesting.
Same thing for the petrification. It's vague enough to run what you want.
