My current build:
[Bountiful Bao Recipe] + Conduit Gem (Upgrade to Gem Of Focus) - Book Of Thoth - Chronos' Pendant - Spear Of Desolation - Staff Of Myrddin - Rod Of Tahuti (Perfected Glyph)

Alternate (not as fun :D) build:
[Bountiful Bao Recipe] + Sands Of Time (Upgrade to Pendulum Of Ages) - Book Of Thoth - Spear Of Deso - Bancrofts (Or Divine Ruin if against sustain) - Obsidian Shard - Soul Reaver (This build would probably be better against a team with 3+ tanky targets but if you want to just focus on killing squishy backliners then the other build is better and can still kill tanks since it has 40% pen and damage increase passives)

Been messing around with a few Janus builds trying to find what I like the most since there have been some big changes that affect him and his build paths, most notably his %pen on his ult, the CDR shaman camp and the bountiful bao recipe.

Levelling Janus ult gives 20% penetration for free at level 20 and counts towards your item penetration, so ideally you want only 20% pen from your items to hit the cap of 40%. I like going Myrddin and Tahuti to hit the cap, their passives work nicely on Janus as Myrddin passive procs right as your ult fires making close range ults still do a lot of damage. If you're versing a reaaallly tanky team then you can get Obsidian shard and a Soul Reaver instead and that way you'll hit the pen cap from just one item and have 60% pen with obsidian shard passive, but your job as Janus isn't really to kill the tanks and 40% pen should be enough most the time.

Because you get so much penetration for free, in some ways it limits your build to what you can go so you don't overcap, but in other ways it gives you room to fit other items into your build like CDR items which are very important on Janus. Since there is so much CDR available don't go sands of time it will just limit your build even more, get conduit to help your clear and the gem of focus upgrade lategame makes you extremely slippery, that lets you get the CDR in your other items which have really useful passives for Janus like Chronos Pendant. I used to rush Chronos pendant and continue straight into more CDR but with the addition of the Bountiful Bao (cooldown recipe) and 10% CDR from the shaman camps you're using abilities so often that you'll run out of mana all game. So I've found going Book Of Thoth first and then getting your cooldown items means you can make the most of your cooldown without needing to worry as much about your mana, plus the extra power and flat pen is nice.

The 10% CDR blue bonus shaman buff to your red as well as the 10% CDR from the red power potion does give you the option to drop some CDR items and go something else like a Divine Ruin or Soul Reaver if antiheal or antihealth is really needed, but if you don't need to then the item passives on the cooldown items are pretty nice to have and hitting 40% CDR earlier is going to be really valuable. If you do want to min-max the shaman camp then get 30% CDR from your items and use the 10% CDR shaman camp until you can buy power potions to hit 40% then swap your shaman camp to another one like red for lifesteal.

ANYWAYS GIANT PARAGRAPHS OVER! HAVE FUN :D
