Getting hammered on Tempest, lol. I used to be pretty good on the Tempest arcade machine back in the day. Brings back memories playing it again. Been about 42 years since i last played it. 😱😭 Wondering if its possible to get good at the game using a game pad. Its a great game. Im pretty sure with some practice its possible to reach the red levels.

The game was clearly designed to be played with the weighted dial controller. You could get a lot of precision with it, and you could half-spin it 'side to side' really quickly to take out the 'purple' enemies and the two' reds' that they each drop when destroyed. When you were in trouble you could also spin the dial and your claw-ship would zip around the web at lighting speed while you fired as fast as possible. In this version of the game your ship only moves at one set speed. On the arcade game it moved as fast as you could spin the weighted dial.
