A downhill time attack of the fast windy Tsuchisaka touge! Based on the Tsuchisaka track from Initial D Arcade Stage 8 and ported from Assetto Corsa into BeamNG.drive by NistingurA, this Japanese hill pass feels very different from Akina, Shomaru, Irohazaka, or Myogi. It reminds me of some of the tracks from Gran Turismo with how it flows. The most powerful RWD SBR4 is quite a handful, needing a lot of throttle control to drive with ESC off or you'll power oversteer and constantly lose time in the best case scenario, but it really is satisfying to control in the new tire model. No gutters or gimmicks here, you simply need good racing lines through a lot of complex corners. Be sure to compromise corner exits a moderate amount in sections with no straights between turns, otherwise you'll be fighting the car constantly and taking much bigger risks without necessarily keeping your average speed higher.

Since I've been asked how long these runs take, I decided to add my earliest clean run to the video after my personal best touge record, done after maybe ~15 minutes of practice. I'd never driven this touge before outside of the Initial D Arcade Stage 8 machine. You can see how much more hesitation I have charging onto all the high speed straights before I have more experience with the general shape of the turns and basic landmarks memorized. BeamNG really is a great touge racing sim, making this style of driving come alive in a way not many other games can manage.
