What’s Changed with the Mint Mattress?
With so much competition in the mattress industry, manufacturers are always incorporating consumer feedback to improve their products. In the case of the Mint mattress, it provides some additional features that I think are well worth the added investment. These include:

A few extra inches of material thickness
Added transition layer between comfort and support
Increased bounce
Better durability expectations

Over the course of the past couple of weeks, I’ve had a chance to thoroughly review this product, and I am impressed with the improvements made.

Superior Edge Support for a Foam Product
One of the downsides of foam mattresses is that they often lack in edge support. This is a problem for people who find themselves frequently sitting or lying on the edge. If you have a sleep partner, there’s an increased chance you do sleep near the edge. The compromise is typically the most notable when sitting on the very corner where it’s not uncommon to completely bottom out.

Tuft & Needle reinforces the bottom side rails of the Mint mattress, and this additional feature makes it superior to their original model. If you have serious mobility issues and are torn between the original mattress and Mint, I’d say the investment in the Mint mattress’s added edge support is worth it.

Multiple Efforts to Promote Cool Sleep
If you sleep hot, I think you’ll appreciate Tuft & Needle’s multiple efforts to keep you sleeping cool:

The adaptive foam is open celled, allowing for better airflow.
Adaptive foam contains graphite and gel materials that work to wick heat away from the body.
In comparison to the original Tuft and Needle mattress we looked at a year ago, it contains 30% more graphite which is said to deflect 50% more heat from your body.
It also contains 30% more ceramic gel beads for added cooling. We often see blue beads, but you can see these beads are green. They are said to absorb 5 times more heat than the conventional blue bead products.
