348If you're running a good quality NVMe SSD and a decent gaming system then you might want to turn this setting off in Windows.
Microsoft has a setting turned on by default that's designed to check the validity of drivers and protect your system from malicious code. But this setting also has a negative impact on performance when playing games.
I've tested this and have seen an improvement in FPS and a reduction in game load times too. Naturally your experience may vary, depending on your system and the parts in it. See below for the specs used in the machine I was testing with.
Obviously this is still an important setting. So you might want to keep it turned on to protect your system or turn it off when gaming but back on again when you're finshed.
