Here is a tutorial showing how to break a .flv file into several smaller files using avidemux. The key here is that we are not encoding the video again so we are losing no quality in doing this. Also it is much faster than had you encoded the video.

This program and technique will work with other file types and codecs (mkv, mp4, avi, etc), I am targeting .flv because as a live streamer that uses xsplit I know many other people have long live stream files similar to mine and do not have a way to easily use those files as VOD due to the long length.

So this is a totally free, no bloatware, spyware, spamware, crappy trial, bs way of doing it and you get the best possible results.
