Here's the quick summary of things to keep in mind when you tame: (including the weird problems I ran into)
1) Make sure you're Training Beginner Level 5 (or else you can't use the rope)
2) Grab about 10 ropes and probably 7 or more Lumps of Sugar
3) I would hit the space bar immidately after throwing a rope, DO NOT hit your space bar until you see the horse get on it's hide legs.
4) I actually hit my space bar too fast and it wouldn't register I was hitting my space bar at all.
