63Axel was originally a car that you can only get if you preorder the game. They later made him unlockable. This Axel actually has a shockwave that you can jump over. In Twisted Metal 2 and 3 you couldn't jump over it because it will still hit you in the air., making the special look more like an explosion than a grounded shockwave. Twisted Metal 4 Axel special animation made more sense. The shockwave isn't as strong as it use to be but can send enemy cars flying. It can be used to get an enemy away from your teammate or stop a car that is trying to launch a missile in Nuke mode. Unlike all the other Axel from the previous games, this Axel has to charge up the shockwave and the enemy can stop it if they hit you with something strong like a napalm or stalker. The second special is the War Wheel from Twisted Metal Black. It's stronger than the shockwave but it's frustrating to use because it doesn't always register. The first hit will do 50 damage, (Online it's 60) second hit is 80, third is 90 and the fourth is 100. Ramming into a car at full speed will end the special. You need to move slower if you want to land mulitple crush damage. You can't quickly run over the same car twice. You'll need to wait a few seconds before you can crush it again or else there will be no damage. You're less likely to get 100 in Team Deathmatch especially when the special doesn't want to work. Sometimes when you run into a car the crush animation will not active. While you're using the special Axel will move faster and since he doesn't lose ammo when you switch to another weapon before it runs out, you can keep using it. This Axel can jump very high making it easy to reach places faster. It's annoying when you're trying to get the health on top of Grindhouse though. Axel has 170 health and gets 51 from normal health and 34 from mercy.
