Every other tutorial I have watched to see how to type in Japanese on a PC is bloated, and I figured someone else out there may feel similarly. I have taken it upon myself to make a tutorial that covers everything you need to know about installation and application of Japanese typing- all condensed into a 2 minute video.

For even quicker reference, the shortcuts are:
Hiragana: CTRL + Caps Lock
Katakana: Alt + Caps Lock
Lang. Switching: Windows + Space

In all seriousness, if this random video I made because I couldn't sleep is helpful to anyone then my mission is complete. I hope it was to the point and easy to follow. I do not cover the basics of actually speaking Japanese because I am only a beginner myself, and I don't think it is necessary. This is purely how to make your keyboard Japanese, not an explanation of the language itself.

Also worth noting, if you are to add a Japanese language option to your phone's keyboard lineup- it functions practically identically ! Romaji typing, scrolling for suggestions and kanji, etc.
