OK, so when EA Sports published UFC 4, the next instalment of the world’s official video game for the number one MMA league in the world, it was announced for the PS4. That was back in August 2020 and since then there have been whispers of anticipation – will there be a PS5 version?
The answer is not yet.
But the good news is that this version is backwards compatible and can be played on the PS5, as we are doing.
The mixed martial arts fighting video game EA Sports UFC was first released back in 2014, and sequels have landed every two years since. So, this could be the year for the next-gen version! We’ll have to wait and see…
In the meantime, if you are a true MMA fighting fan then UFC 4 will not disappoint. The updates and tweaks following UFC 3 are significantly better, resulting in much more realism in the MMA gameplay. The experience is smoother, more enjoyable, and you get a sense of all the elements of the fight in the UFC 4 gameplay.
For example, you can expect more controlled striking elements whether you want to go for speed or slower, more powerful strikes. You get greater control over grappling exchanges too.
Clinches and takedowns are improved in the MMA gameplay with the addition of Real Player Motion Technology (RPM Tech).
With UFC 4 you feel you are there, a true MMA fighter, being able to visualise, hear, and even feel the impact of the shots while you are fighting. The UFC 4 gameplay is so realistic you can see the damage inflicted on the body by the strikes, with cuts, bruising, even blood.
It’s an immersive, authentic MMA experience.
The UFC4 gameplay improvements also include many more stadiums and arenas for you to visit. So, whether you like a backyard brawl, a fight in an underground venue, or the chance to take your MMA fighting skills to the UFC Apex, you won’t be disappointed with the choice.
