Personal Thoughts:

For the past few days i've decided to dip my toes into speedrunning Doom 1's first episode after watching a friend do a nightmare playthrough in a private stream so in the
same private discord channel I decided to set up DSDA-Doom and after like 20 attempts I got my first successful run was about 16:50. then over the course of a couple of days
I lowered my time a few more times and was able to confidently get under 10 minutes on a successful run "uploading two of those successful runs to my youtube channel".

Going for under 9 minutes was definitely a lot harder as I'd have to forget the Chaingun and Supercharge in E1M2 and start further disregarding my own safety in levels E1M3
and E1M5 making both of those levels an utter nightmare, I also learned to properly prevent the red key door from closing by using a Shotgunner in E1M6 saving 30 seconds.
in this specific run E1M7 was more or less complete and utter crap as i failed to get the soulsphere secret/shortcut and had to shoot my way out of a crappy situation.

I also tried to do the Ledgejump at the end of E1M8 but failed. but regardless I was proud at getting under 8 minutes. even after almost 400 attempts of mostly getting
pinkywalled.. I swear doing this speedrunning thing with Doom 1 has made me realise that I was taking the SSG for granted.
