I hadn't played this game in six weeks. I suppose this is the most infrequently played game I have that's online, at least proportional to the time I've had it. This video will cover requests 41 through 44.

These matches are played under the Simple control scheme. What that means is that it eliminates all of the control stick motions, leaving nothing more complicated than a direction and a button.

If I could explain it more thoroughly, I would. But I can't, as I'm still trying to figure out all of the controls. That's because the manual barely explains it besides that it exists (and does it poorly), and the game doesn't explain it anywhere, leaving me to take guesses and figure it out for myself. This is what I understand so far:

Light - Normal attacks. These constitute the standing, crouching, and aerial L, M, and H moves. The game will automatically go from L to M to H, or whatever scheme can combo for the character, as long as you repeatedly push the button. Of course, whether you do standing, crouching, or aerial depends on if your character is standing, crouching, or in the air.

Medium - Special moves. These are the moves that would normally require a direction, a quarter circle move, a half circle move, or a dragon punch move. Under Simple, each character has only three such moves (all of them the L variant), depending on if the character is standing, crouching, or in the air. For example, for Ryu, they would be the Hadoken, the Shoryuken, and the Tatsumaki Senpyukyaku, respectively.

Heavy - Hyper Combo. Press this button to initiate a Hyper Combo. To do a Delayed Hyper Combo, press Heavy during the Hyper Combo. (This means that in order to increase the number of hits, you must mash L, not H.) I don't entirely understand this one. It seems as though each character is reduced to a single Hyper Combo, the one listed first with a few exceptions, so simply pushing the button seems to be all there is to it. It feels too simple though, even for this scheme.

Special - Launcher. The game lists this as "special attack," but the only move I've been able to get out of this is the character's launch move. In any case, since this is assigned its own button, the universal combo of L M H S M M H S is, under Simple controls, L L L S L L L S.

Jumping, blocking, dashing, air-dashing, assists, character swapping, X-Factor, and Crossover Combinations seem to be the same. I don't know how to do grabs, Advancing Guard, Snap-Backs, and Team Air Combo Counters. Have I missed anything?

Essentially, it's being able to perform moves easier with the tradeoff of the characters' moves being greatly limited. Still, this is probably all I can handle for now.

Match #1
Vergil, Hawkeye, and Taskmaster
Arcade Mode - vs. Heralds and Galactus
Song: Grace and Glory
Sorry for my putting up the end of the Arcade Mode instead--since I haven't played this in so long, and this was a new control scheme, I decided to head to Arcade Mode instead to see how I'm supposed to use it. I do like how quickly I managed to clean out the Heralds though. I was pretty surprised to see that.

Match #2
vs. zombie jagerman
Spider-Man, Frank West, and Viewtiful Joe
vs.
Wolverine, Dante, and Ryu
Song: Jeh Jeh Rocket
You're probably thinking that this doesn't look much like Wolverine...and that Dante has an eyepatch. These are the alternate outfits. (I'll get around to picking up the whole set at once. Eventually.) I may have been able to wipe the floor with the Heralds, but, of course, human opponents are much more capable. Then again, this person has a roughly 75% win rate and is on a 9-win streak. It'd be kind of foolish to think someone like me could overcome someone like this chap.

Match #3
vs. getoffmewench
Phoenix Wright, Amaterasu, and Deadpool
vs.
Felicia, Wolverine, and Firebrand
Song: Sweet Soul Brother
For the most part, I don't mind a character having a reduced moveset. It works for me because it's less for me to memorize, especially when my goal is to be able to be at least decent with every character. Phoenix Wright, however, is one of those characters who absolutely needs all of the moves he knows. For instance, under Simple, from what I can see, Wright is unable to gather evidence, which means he can't enter Turnabout Mode. I'll have to look into this though, to see if they DID provide him with a way.

Match #4
vs. DDonDIS
Tron, Akuma, and Shuma-Gorath
vs.
Wolverine, Dante, and Akuma
Song: Boarder 70
There sure is a lot of Wolverine, isn't there? I think I found someone with a record comparable to my own. I wonder what people normally think when they see my record. Persistence? Of couse, even with the Simple controls, I still manage to trigger X-Factor by accident.

In this match, I get the Achievement "Hotshot," whose criterion is to win 10 Ranked matches. Yeah, I've had the game all this time and I've only been able to manage this now.
