A 1-credit clear of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 [umk3] (Novice tower), played with MAME 0.226. Learned some tricks from LRock617 that make the 1cc very doable. A couple of notes on how to 1cc with Smoke:
- For most opponents, the method is: Jump backward, kick in the air, then immediately do the teleport punch, then jump kick and air throw. Then repeat the cycle.
- That can run into trouble if they have a super-fast projectile (Reptile) or if they decide to block (which they usually do only at the start of the first round).
- At the start of the Motaro fight, turn into Human Smoke! (As soon as previous match is done, hold back+run+block+HK+HP; MAME might not be able to register all those keys at once on a keyboard!)
- For Motaro you want to do the close-range combo (HP, HP, HK, B+HK very rapidly) when you're close to him. How do you GET close to him? You can walk or run in (requires careful timing/spacing), jump in (I try that at the start of each round), or let him come to you. I had success with letting him jump in at me; you have a generous time window to react.
- For Shao Kahn: Duck at the start, then when you get a chance, punish with an uppercut or other move that knocks him down. Once you do that, you just need to run up to him, mash LP as he gets up, then start tapping back as well to do the harpoon, then uppercut.
