For the budget shopper looking for a pair of headphones that are lightweight and portable, the DT770 PROs are going to be a solid option for you. They’re cheaper than the DT990s, but they still offer a lot in terms of sound quality, soundstage, and comfort. They are a closed-back studio model, so no sound leaks out or in. The DT990’s are a touch more expensive and might be better suited for those of you who plan on using your headset for sound mixing or studio sessions. They offer an open design, meaning sound can and will escape, but with that, you get that really wide soundstage, and your ears won’t get as hot.
