Unboxing and how to fiting instruction for the Thermalright assassin X 120R SE V2 CPU air cooler
6In this video, I'm going to show you how to unbox and install the Thermalright Assassin X 120R SE V2 CPU air cooler. This is a high-performance cooler that features a tower design, 4 heatpipes, and 120mm fans. It can handle up to 280W of TDP and is compatible with most Intel and AMD sockets.
To unbox the cooler, you'll need a pair of scissors or a knife to cut the tape on the box. Inside, you'll find the cooler itself, wrapped in plastic and foam, along with a smaller box that contains the mounting hardware, thermal paste, and user manual. You'll also find a Thermalright sticker and a warranty card.
To install the cooler, you'll need a screwdriver and some patience. The first step is to prepare your motherboard by removing the stock cooler and cleaning the CPU surface with alcohol or a microfiber cloth. Then, you'll need to install the backplate and the mounting brackets according to your socket type. You can refer to the user manual for detailed instructions and diagrams.
Next, you'll need to apply some thermal paste on the center of the CPU. You can use the included syringe or your own preferred method. A pea-sized amount should be enough. Then, you'll need to align the cooler over the CPU and secure it with four screws. Make sure the cooler is firmly attached and not wobbling.
Finally, you'll need to connect the fans to the fan headers on your motherboard or a fan controller. You can use the included Y-splitter cable if you only have one fan header available. You can also adjust the fan speed and orientation according to your preference. And that's it! You've successfully installed the Thermalright Assassin X 120R SE V2 CPU air cooler. Enjoy your lower temperatures and quieter operation!
