Funny story, in the Silmarilian. Celebrimbor DOES make the Rings of Power, and he was one of the only nice Faenorians. But he was killed when Sauron destroyed Eregion... and used his corpse as a banner, I assume till, the end of the War of the Last Alliance.

And now Celebrimbor, son of Curufin, son of Feanor, is repeating the mistakes of Middle-Earth's most talented screw-up. Seriously, he calls himself 'the Bright Lord'. Do the Sons of Feanor not hear themselves when they talk beyond how awesome it sounds?
