0John Marston finds West Dickens at Fort Mercer, trying to sell a tonic that is supposed to protect the living from the undead. A man who tests it by leaving the fort is eaten by the undead.
Dickens gives the tonic to John and tells him to use it as bait for the undead, then asks him to collect 5 Desert Sage and 5 Violet Snowdrop flowers so he can make a cure. Collect the flowers and return to Dickens who is not far from Fort Mercer. After the cutscene go to Riley's Charge and retrieve the old parts then return to West Dickens at Benedict Point to finish the mission.
