Union govt has scrapped 'no detention policy' for classes 5 and 8. Students who are unable to pass annual exams will be marked as failing and will need to retake tests. Those failing yearly exams will be able to take annual exams within 2 months. However if they fail again they will not be promoted and will have to repeat the year
