June 22nd, 1941: The Red Army has chosen to concentrate its largest striking power south of the Pripet Marshes. On paper, Army Group South will face some 3,700 Soviet tanks. In practice the Red Army lacks the capability to keep these forces maintained and coordinated in action. Still, the German armies in this sector face the toughest task in Operation Barbarossa.
